

Vliehors Expres- poems in the sand
The desolate beaches of the Dutch Island of Vlieland are poetic in themselves. Yet, the Vliehors Expres, a likably plump vehicle, world famous on Vlieland, adds a little extra flavouring to this ‘Dutch desert’. Its tires literally leave poems as traces. These lines of words between the water and the land are only published to surprise a lonely walker before being erased by nature itself.
I was struck by the beauty of this idea and participated in the contest for the poem to be embossed on the tire. I got second place, so in the end the publishing was on paper only...
